Class Election

It’s election time!

This week for our civics and citizenship unit we learned about democracy, what makes a good representative, what the three levels of government are and what their responsibilities are and how voting in an election works.

Today, we held a class election, voting in a class mascot. Students numbered the boxes on a ballot paper in order of their choice. Next, we used a preferential voting tool to count our votes to elect our candidate.

…and the winner by absolute majority was…

…Lucky Labrador!!!

If possible, I asked students to attend the polling booth with you tomorrow to get a better understanding about what we have been talking about in class. I will ask for volunteers on Monday to share something they found interesting.

Happy Voting!
